Black German Heritage and Research Association
The Black German Heritage and Research Association [BGHRA] documents and promotes the activities of Black Germans and the historic and contemporary presence of Black people in Germany; particularly, but not limited to, the areas of the creative arts and the humanities. As an academic organization, it takes an active role in researching and recording the history of black people in Germany. BGHRA is committed to strengthening relationships among all who identify as Black Germans and Black persons who have a connection to Germany. In partnership with other institutions and organizations, BGHRA encourages and supports the interdisciplinary inclusion of Black German history, life experience and contemporary culture in education, and bilateral student exchange opportunities.
